GROW@GreenPark Hub Mum Louize, and resident mutt, Whirly, joined Volume at their 5th annual Bring Your Dog To Work Day. The 50 Game Changer team was joined by 12 dogs.
Volume hosts the day in support of Binfield Dog Rescue, a local charity nominated by the company. Internal communications executive, Bethany Deeks explains, “It’s a local charity and we’re keen to give back to the community. As we’re dog lovers here, it was a perfect choice for us. There are awards for the cutest, naughtiest, best-looking and office favourite.”
The benefits of bringing your dog to work are becoming more widely recognised, not least in terms of reducing stress levels and providing a calming influence. Research by Reed.co.uk shows that about 8% of UK employees are allowed to take their canine colleagues to work. As Bethany adds, “As well as raising money for charity, it’s also a good for social interaction and communication- encouraging people to walk about and chat rather than hiding behind emails.”
